Rothwell Figg is seeking a Docketing Specialist with at least three years of solid experience of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution procedures. Successful candidates must have knowledge of Inprotech® or similar docketing software products; have excellent written and oral communication skills; be detail oriented; have strong organizational skills; and must be a team player. This position requires flexibility to work overtime as needed. Some college is preferred. Rothwell Figg offers a hybrid work schedule, excellent benefits, and competitive salaries. This is an in-office position located in the Washington, DC office with hybrid remote work flexibility. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reserve new matter numbers from accounting and docket new patent and trademark applications;
- Review and process transfer-in files and update the docket system accordingly;
- Docket incoming (PTO, PCT and Foreign Associate) correspondences as needed;
- Review incoming and outgoing emails and update the docket system accordingly;
- Clear the docket on a daily basis to ensure that deadlines are met and the system is properly updated;
- Process EFS receipts and assist in quality control by reviewing the filing and referring to any errors or omissions observed during the normal course of processing the EFS receipt;
- Prepare client status reports for attorneys as needed;
- Provide assistance with overflow docketing and/or coverage as assigned by the Docketing Manager;
- Process attorney special requests including, case closing, client matter changes, assignment changes, etc.; and
- Perform electronic searches with the USPTO, WIPO, and Foreign websites as needed.

Rothwell Figg seeks a Litigation Paralegal with 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably in the area of patent litigation, who must be able to handle all aspects of complex litigations, from pre-litigation phase, through trial and appeal. Successful candidates must have applicable knowledge of federal district court rules and procedures, litigation terminology and documentation, and docketing procedures; strong organizational and analytical skills; the ability to set priorities and multi-task; and excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills. Candidates must be computer proficient, with experience and working knowledge of Lexis, Westlaw and other litigation-research databases. IP litigation (federal courts), PTAB and/or ITC experience is a plus. This position requires flexibility to work overtime as needed and some travel may be required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Organizing and maintaining case files and databases on a daily basis;
- Maintaining case dockets and advising attorneys of due dates;
- Organizing and coordinating document retrieval and review projects;
- Performing basic legal and factual research;
- Assisting in the preparation of pleadings, exhibits, written discovery and production documents for motions, discovery, hearings and trials;
- Cite checking and proofreading pleadings and other documents;
- Overseeing and managing all aspects of a case from pre-litigation through trial and appeal;
- Ability to work independently with a strong attention to details; and
- Maintaining up-to-date time reports to ensure accurate client billing.
