Rothwell Figg is seeking a Foreign Patent Prosecution Manager with at least 5-10 years of foreign filing experience in all aspects of PCT and foreign patent prosecution applications, including filing, formalities, annuities, researching and reporting, cost estimating, and maintenance of a docket.  Successful candidates must have expert knowledge of PCT and foreign patent rules and procedures; strong decision making and leadership skills; be a strategic thinker; effectively communicate and work with people at all levels; excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational skills; detail oriented; and proficient in MS Office.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Rothwell Figg offers a hybrid work environment, excellent benefits, and competitive salaries. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supervises foreign patent paralegals, conducts training, assigns new work, and provide backup to foreign patent paralegals as necessary;
  • Implements policies and procedures to consistently provide a high level of service and to minimize risk;
  • Communicates with firm management regarding matters concerning the foreign patent prosecution department as necessary; 
  • Mentors foreign patent paralegals and provides guidance to ensure best practices;
  • Assists in evaluating, recruiting, and interviewing new hires for the foreign patent prosecution department as necessary;
  • Conducts annual performance evaluations and new hire 90 day evaluations, and provides feedback on performance and productivity;
  • Manages foreign patent applications  for designated clients with attorney supervision;
  • Prepare and process client and foreign associate correspondence related to foreign patent applications for the designated clients; 
  • Prepares conversion deadline letters to client and prepares cost estimates;
  • Prepares PCT International Applications and processes PCT Forms from WIPO and reports to clients;
  • Prepares National Applications and PCT National Phase applications for forwarding to Foreign Associates, monitors applications and reports to clients;
  • Prepares formality documents and obtains legalized documents for filing in foreign Patent Offices;
  • Process foreign Letters Patent documents and reports to clients; 
  • Coordinates foreign file intake and provides instructions to the Docketing Department as necessary;  and
  • Works with annuity service to pay client foreign patent renewals.

Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000
