Rothwell Figg is seeking a Patent Legal Secretary with 2-4 years of patent prosecution experience (some litigation experience is a plus). Successful candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite; accurately type 60+ words per minute; proficient in USPTO PATENT CENTER platform; possess excellent written and oral communication skills; detail oriented; strong organizational skills; and must be a team player. Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred. This position requires flexibility to work overtime as needed. Rothwell Figg offers a hybrid work schedule, excellent benefits, and competitive salaries. This hybrid work position is located in the Washington, DC office. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Prepare drafts and file executed documents for new applications including Provisional, National Phase, Continuation, Divisional, and Continuation-in-Part;
- Review and process formalities including Filing Receipts, Notices of Missing Parts, and Notices of Publication;
Prepare drafts and file executed documents during patent prosecution stage such as Responses/Amendments, IDS’s, petitions, etc.; - Keep up to date on USPTO rules;
- Revise documents, including generating tables of content and authorities for briefs;
- Make travel arrangements and process expense reports;
- Time entry and electronic file maintenance;
- Provide relief coverage at the reception desk; and
- Perform other related administrative duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Prepare notice letters to clients for upcoming trademark deadlines;
- Open new files for internal use;
- Check billing statuses for files;
- Assist attorneys with filings, including extensions of time, motions, new applications;
- Prepare monthly client reports;
- Assist attorneys with cease-and-desist letters;
- Tracking developments and deadlines within litigation and prosecution matters;
- Gather specimens for litigation and prosecution matters; and
- Assist in preparations for depositions including, but not limited, compiling exhibits and coordinating with court reporters.
